New Delhi: In view of the recent tremors which has rocked the national capital, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) issued 30 more notices to residential group housing societies, educational institutions, schools and asked them to submit a structure audit report within 30 days.

The building owners have started responding to the notices. Six owners have started the process of engaging structural consultants.

So far, the SDMC has identified 103 buildings and issued notices to them.

Moreover, the municipal corporation has also been conducting a survey to identify high rise buildings and structures to examine the seismic stability.

They are urging the RWAs and management of the housing societies to consult and take advice from engineers to ensure safety.

As per the chief engineer of the building department, the list of empanelled engineers is available on the SDMC website. The SDMC has also empanelled seven more engineers for consultation work.

Premier engineering institutes like IIT Delhi, DTU, NCCBM and others recognised by AICTE can be approached by the public for the structural audit of their buildings.
