GB Nagar: Record single-day rise in new cases; recovery rate drops to 80.55 pc
Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar witnessed another record high in its single-day tally with 251 more infections of Covid-19 on Thursday, taking the district’s cumulative tally to 9,605, according to the official data.
In the three successive days, the district has recorded its single-day high with 238 on Wednesday and 236 on Tuesday.
Also, the number of active cases increased to 1820 from 1,696 on Wednesday. It was 1,599 on Tuesday. It was 1,520 on Monday, 1, 429 on Sunday, 1,299 on Saturday, and 1,188 on Friday, as per the data.
As many as 125 patients were treated and discharged during the last 24 hours period, taking the district’s overall recoveries to 7,737. The recovery rate slightly further dropped to 80.55 per cent from 81.35 per cent on Wednesday. It was 81.96 per cent on Tuesday and 82.40 per cent on Monday, the data showed.
The district’s recovery rate saw a continuous decline since August 21 which recorded a high of 87.88 per cent.
However, the district’s death toll counted to 48 and the fatality rate among the positive cases stood at 0.49 per cent which is one of the lowest in the state.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded its highest single-day spike with 7,042 fresh cases, pushing the state’s tally to 2,92,029, the state health bulletin said.
The state’s death toll counted to 4,206, as 94 persons succumbed to deadly disease in the last 24 hours. It is the second highest single-day casualty after 95 deaths linked to deadly disease recorded on August 20.
Of the total caseload, 2,21,506 patients were treated and discharged so far, while there are 66,317 active cases across the state. The state’s recovery rate counted to 75.85 per cent, while the mortality rate stood at 1.44 per cent.
