A two-day art exhibition organised by Dwarka Collective has been the talk of town. And why not when the six artists happen to be residents of the sub-city!

Look who's painting Dwarka red!

A painting exhibition has been the talk of Dwarka since yesterday. Organised by Dwarka Collective at Sri Venkteshwar International School, Sector 18, this two-day exhibition (July 29-30) showcases the work of five artists from various Dwarka societies, right from nature and portraits to abstract art.

The participating artists are Amrit Kalsi, a doctor and a resident of Hilansh Apartments in Sector 10; Asheesh Mamgain, a journalist and a resident of Seema Apartments in Sector 11; Sheher Hashmi, a student and resident of Akash Ganga Apartments in Sector 6; Arya Vasudevan a government employee and a resident of Shahyadri Apartments in Sector 12; and Ramesh Mumukshu, an RTI activist and a resident of Ashirwad Apartments in Sector 16 B.

Of them, Kalsi, Hashmi and Vasudevan focus on portraits; and Mumukshu and Mamgain on nature, abstracts and portraits.

However, there was a surprise addition on the second day — 13-year-old Manas Chawla, a student of Sam International School in Dwarka Sector 12.

People from all across the city attended the show and interacted with the artists, understanding the concepts and ideas behind their creations.

PP Bansal a social worker and a resident of Ganpati Apartments in Sector 9, who visited the exhibition, said, "This is a wonderful effort by Dwarka Collective to promote art and artists at a community level. This is a new beginning in the area and a great way to bond with the community."
