Noida: Noida Industrial Development Authority on Thursday launched a mobile application to ensure better monitoring of door-to-door garbage collection in the city.
The mobile app has been launched by Ritu Maheshwari, Chief Executive Officer of the authority. The app is devised with software that enables on-duty sanitation staff to send real-time data of waste collection to the control room, from where the mechanism would be monitored.
According to the Noida Authority official, they have received several complaints from different residential pockets about the non-punctuality of the on-duty staff and irregular pick-up trips of door-to-door waste collection services. In order to improve the services, the authority has taken the help of technology to make the mechanism more accountable in offering services to residents.
He further added that with help of the mobile app, on-duty staff would ensure that the garbage is collected from each household. They have to enter details confirming the garbage collection at a source and whether the door was locked or owners refused to give waste while they reached them.
There are two lights like red and green indicating whether the garbage was picked or not. If the light is red, the garbage was not picked. They (on-duty staff) would get the necessary direction from the control room for providing better service, the official said.
