New Delhi: Delhi on Sunday reported 29 deaths due to coronavirus, which is the lowest figure since September 25 when 24 people succumbed to the deadly disease. The death toll has now reached 5,769.
48 deaths were reported on Saturday, 38 on Friday, 37 on Thursday, 35 on Wednesday, 39 on Tuesday, 32 on Monday and 38 on Sunday.
For the straight tenth day, Delhi reported less than 3,000 new coronavirus cases. Delhi on Sunday reported 2,780 new cases, taking the cumulative tally to 3,09,000. The number of new cases reported came out of 48,753 tests conducted on the previous day.
Delhi recorded 2,866 new cases on Saturday, 2,860 on Friday, 2,726 on Thursday, 2,871 on Wednesday, 2,676 fresh cases on Tuesday, 1,947 on Monday and 2,683 on Sunday.
48,753 tests were conducted, of which 10,801 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 37,952 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate slightly declined to 5.70 per cent from 5.76 per cent on the previous day. 49,736 tests were conducted on Friday, 49,125 on Thursday, 53,322 on Wednesday, 51,505 on Tuesday, 53,591 on Monday and 35,593 on Sunday.
On the other hand, Delhi reported more than 3,000 recoveries in the last 24 hours. 3,057 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 2,81,869 in the national capital. The recovery rate slightly increased to 91.11 per cent from 90.94 on the previous day.
The recoveries outnumbered the new cases on Sunday. It affected the active cases count positively. Active cases declined by 306 in the city. Delhi has now 21,701 active cases. The active cases have come down in the last few days after crossing the 30,000 mark during the last upsurge in cases.
12,470 patients are under home isolation. Of the 16,118 hospital beds in the city, 10,889 are unoccupied.
