Delhi reports 3,324 new coronavirus cases; positivity rate at 5.84 pc
New Delhi: Delhi on the second consecutive day reported more than 3,000 fresh cases of coronavirus cases. As on Wednesday, 3,324 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative tally to 3,17,548. The number of new cases reported came out of 56,950 tests conducted on the previous day.
Of the 56,950 tests conducted, 12,596 were RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 44,354 were rapid antigen tests. The positivity rate slightly rose to 5.84 per cent from 5.52 per cent on the previous day.
44 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll has now reached 5,898. 45 deaths were reported on Tuesday, 40 on Monday, 29 on Sunday, 48 on Saturday, 38 on Friday, 37 on Thursday, and 35 on Wednesday.
On the other hand, 2,867 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 2,89,747 in the national capital. The recovery rate slightly dropped to 91.24 from 91.29 per cent on the previous day.
The number of active cases in the national capital stood at 21,903. Out of the 16,113 beds in Covid hospitals, 11,050 beds were lying vacant. The number of people in home isolation rose to 12,360 from 12,176 on Tuesday.
