Noida: Residents of different high rises in Noida have come out to donate necessary stationery items generously among underprivileged students. It was carried out on the eve of Chhath Puja, a Hindu festival of faiths and beliefs.

Dinesh Singh, a resident of Homes-121, a high rise in sector 121, who is a volunteer, said that the donation was made under the baker of Green Volunteer Foundation, a social organisation.

He said that they carry out this kind of initiative every year to extend support for people in need on the occasion of Diwali. But it was delayed by a few days due to the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19.

“The donation took place on the concluding day of Chhath Puja,” he said.

While the donation was in progress, the residents distributed necessary stationery items among the needy. They also distributed prasad of Chhath Puja among all those who gathered for the same.

Singh said, “The needy students were given notebooks, pens, pencils and lunch boxes. They were distributed prasad as well.”

He said that our foundation had been doing this kind of activity every year with an aim of extending help to the needy students.
