Women's Day: Swayam Siddha rewards Gurugram ladies

New Delhi: Swayam Siddha organisation, founded by Alka Dalal, celebrated International Women's Day on Monday by rewarding the Gurugram women who worked, helped the needy, opened new entrepreneurship programs and associations during the pandemic.

Women from the field of health care, social work, arts, beauty and many more were acknowledged for their work.

The total number of nominees was 800. Out of which, 120 were awarded the 'Gurugram Women's Pandemic Achiever's Award' and 50 women were also awarded with special guests of honour.

Senior journalist of Dainik Jagran, Priyanka Dube and women safety officer Veena Gupta were present. The event was successful with more than 200 attendees.

Usha Kundu, ACP Gurugram, and Dr Sushila Kataria, Director of Jivaka Health Care and Specialist Internal Medicine, Medanta Hospital were the guests of honour for this event.

The founder of Swayam Siddha, advocate Alka Dalal, said, “The idea behind starting this organisation is 'empowering women'.”  She continued, “All should imbibe the slogan of Swayam Siddha, that is 'Women for Women' and aim to become a 'Swyam Siddha'.”

The event came to an end with a fulfilled group dance by all the attendees and awardees.
