Tattered road makes life difficult for commuters in Dwarka

Dwarka: The road from Neo Great Mission Public School to Lovely Chowk, in Sector 5, Dwarka is completely broken. Chunks of gravel are popping out of the road creating difficulties for the commuters.

Vandana Jha, the principal of Neo Great Mission Public School said, “The road has been in such condition for the past one year. It is completely ruined and the public footpath next to it often fills up with water during monsoon. It encourages mosquito breeding. There are no speed breakers on this road, so people often drive recklessly, at high speed. There have been many accidents here. We have requested to at least install some speed breakers here. Many parents have done so as well.”

Buses often dance dangerously as they pass through this road. Here is the picture of a DTC bus at Lovely Chowk, in Sector 5, Dwarka.

“We have repeatedly filled up the holes with sand to avoid any accidents, we do whatever is possible from our end. As the school principal, I often stand by the gate during dispersal hours to ensure everyone’s safety. Offline schools haven’t started yet, so this is an opportunity for the authorities to fix this. This is the main way, a lot of DTC buses pass from here, you can hear them right now. It’s very dangerous for them and us,” added Vandana Jha.
