Road in Dwarka's Sector 7 caves in

After residents complain, DJB fills pit with soil

Road in Dwarka's Sector 7 caves in

The road in front of Airforce and Naval Officers' Enclave in Dwarka had caved in a week ago. The incident took place in the service lane, by the plots 10 and 11 of Sector 7.

Residents of the society filed a complaint with the Delhi Jal Board after which DJB filled the pit with soil. The road is now blocked with caution straps, road cones, jersey barriers, and metal barriers.

"This is not the first time something like this has happened. It is no surprise to us. We filed a complaint with DJB and they stuffed it with soil in a very loose fashion. This time the crater is even bigger. It's 8 feet deep and 4-5 feet long from the top. It could easily swallow two cars at a time,” said SK Sharma, president of the Airforce and Naval Officers' Enclave society.

And indeed, you can see the hole is big enough to do so. CitySpidey team went to the site and clicked some pictures of the cave-in.

"One week has passed and luckily no accident has taken place till today. I fear if this pit doesn't get fixed soon, it will collapse with the monsoon's arrival. This temporary solution doesn't fix the purpose but DJB has promised to update us and rectify the situation in the next 2 days,” Sharma added.
