New Delhi: The city of Delhi continues to witness a high number of fatalities everyday. Delhi reported 338 deaths on Tuesday, taking the toll to 17,752. Earlier, 448 deaths were reported on Monday, which was the highest single-day fatality since the pandemic hit the city.

Delhi recorded 407 deaths on Sunday, 412 on Saturday, 375 deaths on Friday, 395 on Thursday, 368 on Wednesday, and 381 on last Tuesday.

The Capital reported 19,953 new coronavirus cases on Monday, taking the cumulative tally to 12,32,942. The city reported 18,043 new coronavirus cases on Monday, 20,394 on Sunday, 25,219 on Saturday, 27,047 on Friday, 24,235 on Thursday, and 25,986 on Wednesday.

The number of new cases reported came out of 74,654 tests conducted on the previous day. At least 57,507 RTPCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat tests and 17,147 rapid antigen tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate was recorded at 26.73 per cent. The cumulative positivity rate was 7.07 per cent, slightly higher than a day before.

A total of 18,788 patients recovered from the deadly disease, taking the total recovery figure to 11,24,771 in the national capital. The active cases slightly increased to 90,419 from 89,592 on the previous day.

As far as vaccination drive is concerned, a total of 89,297 people received vaccines in the last 24 hours. A total of 61,662 people received the first dose of the vaccine whereas 27,635 people received their second dose. So far, 33,93,467 persons have received vaccines in the national capital.

Out of the total 21,317 beds in coronavirus hospitals, 1,462 are vacant. The tally of people in home isolation slightly declined to 49,829 from 50,441 on Monday.
