New Delhi: Father's Day is coming around, and some of us are spending more time with our families because we're quarantining while there are also some who are far  away from their moms and dads for multiple reasons. This Father’s Day,  settle in with a few movies dedicated to fathers.

Fathers are the epitome of love, confidence, kindness and care. They play a crucial role in one's life. One day is just not enough to express the love we have for our fathers. They are the ‘Real Life Heroes!’ for their children. Father’s Day is an opportunity to realise their importance and to thank them for being selfless. 1. The Pursuit of Happyness

Who doesn't love a good Will Smith movie? This heartwarming drama follows a struggling single father who tries his best to provide best for his child despite working as an unpaid intern and being evicted from his apartment. Watching this with your dad will give you a greater sense of appreciation for all he's done for you.

2. Piku

This is easily one of the best father-daughter movies in recent times! Bhaskor Banerjee played by Amitabh Bachchan is an old man who is suffering from constipation. He is like a needy and attention seeking child constantly clinging to his daughter Piku, played by Deepika Padukone. The rest of the film is about how the dynamics unfold between the father-daughter duo as they undertake a trip to Kolkata.

3. Interstellar

At the heart of Christopher Nolan's dystopian space adventure (starring Matthew McConaughey and Jessica Chastain) is a story about the love between a father and his daughter powerful enough to  transcend time. Such emotional factors have always been in the center of the mind-bending Nolan filmography.

4. Angrezi Medium

The movie throw light on the fact that to which extent a father can go to make his daughter fulfil her dreams. It is a perfect example of sacrifices our parents make to provide a better life to their children. Also, the movie features our very own and everybody’s favourite Irrfan Khan, his acting will leave you speechless like always.

5. To kill a Mockingbird

An iconic story with an iconic performance by Gregory Peck. Peck's Atticus Finch is a small-town lawyer in Depression-era Alabama who attempts to teach his children the evils of racism and prejudice. This is a good one to watch with the man who's always stood up for what's right.

6. Rishtey

Rishtey is the story of a street boxer played by Anil Kapoor, who kidnaps his own son because the father of his wife wanted to kill the baby. He raises his son alone and faces challenges thrown at him.

7. Beautiful Boy

This movie stars Steve Carrel and Timothee Chamalet as the father-son duo. It talks about how a teenager can delve into the darkness of drugs and substance abuse and the extent to which a father would go to save his son from that darkness. The movie perfectly showcases the father-son dynamics and is a tearjerker.

8. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aise Laga

The film had real-life father and daughter playing the same on screen. A sensitive portrayal of LGBTQ issues plaguing society, the film shows how in the end, a father's love for his girl, triumphs over everything else, including her sexuality.
