Dwarka: The residents of Chitrakoot Apartments, a residential society in Sector 22, Dwarka have requested for cleaning of drainage system. They have sent a written complaint regarding desilting of drains. They said that it is required ahead of the monsoon.
The society's president wrote a letter to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). It read, “It is submitted that the rainy season is about to arrive and desilting of the drains has not been carried out in Sector 22, Dwarka. It may, consequently, cause blocking of drains during rains and flooding of roads etc. It may also lead to accidents and loss of life.”
“In view of the aforesaid, it is requested that the desilting of drains may please be carried out before on set of rainy season. We shall remain ever grateful for this help,” the letter further read.
Harish Sharma, a resident of Sector 10 said, “We should be thankful that monsoon is late this time, but that doesn’t mean we will have lazy approach.”
Another resident said, “We want DDA officials to take action as soon as possible, otherwise drains will be blocked during rains and roads will be flooded.”
CitySpidey tried to contact one of the DDA officials but he didn't respond. We will update the story, if response comes from the officials.
