Dwarka: Shyam Vatika Park, located in Sector 7, Dwarka, has been on target of anti-social elements in the past one month. They are constantly damaging the public benches and plants at the park.

On July 12, CitySpidey had written a story carrying details of the damages being done to the park. Many residents had expressed their frustration over plants getting damaged on a regular basis.

However, on July 15, the residents spotted two more benches in a broken state. One dustbin was taken out. A resident of Harsukh Apartment (located adjacent to the park), Ravi Jaitely reported the nuisance to the police.

“It is not just about the park but also about protection of residents living nearby. The razor wire fence was also removed by the anti-social elements. We have spoken to the Sector 9 Beat Officer Vinod Kumar. He said that he will increase patrolling in the park,” said Jaitely.

Mahavir Solanki, a morning walker who planted many saplings in the park said, “I have seen these plants growing up and now they are lying on the ground. This is happening again and again. Plants, benches, and dustbins have been getting damaged regularly.”
