Yamuna Sports Complex
Good news awaits sports lovers, as Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to increase sports facilities at its various complexes in different zones. The decision was taken today, keeping in view the increased demand for membership.
According to the DDA, parking spaces and vacant zones will be converted into play areas with various facilities. Surface parking will be shifted to underground parking.
The DDA plans to put up notices at various complexes and also use the media to invite suggestions. It added that amenities would be increased depending on the demand from a particular area and the number of users.
Membership to certain sports complexes is chock-full, and sportspersons and residents of nearby areas have been requesting the DDA to extend the facilities to allow greater participation.
Dwarka has one fully functional complex at Sector 11, while more are in the planning stage. However, permanent membership to the Dwarka Sports Complex is closed, as it can’t take any more members. But today’s decision will open those gates once more.
General secretary of the Federation of RWAs, Sector 9, MK Singh, said, “This is a positive decision by the DDA. We have been waiting for a long time to get membership in our own sports complex.”
