Dwarka: The drain covers are dangerously missing adjacent to a footpath and sewage is also lying on the Sector 8 bus depot to the footpath, opposite Singla Restaurant and KFC in Sector 9, Dwarka. It is inviting any untoward incident as anyone can easily fall into it.

Besides, the drains on the footpath have been left open, making it difficult and dangerous for pedestrians to walk over.

The residents concerned, looking after these works, should take this issue into their concern and do the needful in order to make the footpath completely safe and available for the walkers. They are constantly under threat of diseases such as malaria, dengue, skin infection and many others.

Parminder Singh, a resident of Sector 8 said, “Nothing has been done by the DDA apart from passing the buck to Delhi Jal Board, although sewer covers clearly show that it is from DDA, they should take immediate actions.”

Shruti Handa, a commuter from Sector 9 talking to CitySpidey said, “Moreover, the open drains also pose a threat to animals in the area. It has happened many times that pets and street dogs have fallen in the drain.”

The level of the open drain and the footpath is not the same. After dark, it becomes a more serious issue for residents, senior citizens and commuters.
