DDA approves International Sports Complex in Dwarka

Dwarka: The Delhi Development Authority in a meeting held on 14th September has approved Development Control Norms to develop Sports Complex at Sector-19, Dwarka as International Sports Complex. The first of its kind complex would be constructed with modern International standards in mind. It will be developed as state-of-the-art, an iconic facility that reflects the growth of sports in the state. The new complex would showcase sports of the National and International levels.

The project is being undertaken to make sports facilities available to the public, encouraging sports amongst youth, providing international level facilities for sportspersons to train and compete and serve as a centre for prestigious international and national sports events.

Further, it will also provide entertainment and tourist destination with real estate development like Hotels, Retail, Convention Centre, Residential etc will also accrue. The commercial facilities shall include Transit accommodation besides other activities which are complementary in nature. Authority members directed that the facilities are not monopolised and would be available to general public too on the basis of membership or as a pay& play service. 

In the meeting, other important decisions were also taken including development along major transportation corridors, Priority for walkability and enhanced open spaces in sectors, and De-centralized physical infrastructure provisions for liveable, smart, and sustainable developments. Moreover, the Authority has also approved amendments in Policy & Procedure for permission and regularisation of addition/alterations of DDA flats.
