Greater Noida: For some people, purchasing a home at is a lifetime venture and in this manner, they hope to get what they pay for. Shailendra Gupta, a resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1, tower C2, Greater Noida, booked his flat in Ecovillage in 2010 and took possession in the year 2018 but still, he is waiting for his registry papers.

Gupta shared, “I booked my flat in the year 2010 and applied for a home loan from a private bank. The builder promised us that he would give us  possession in the year 2012 or maximum of 2013, but he gave possession to us in the year 2018.”

He added, “Monthly EMI of my home loan started from the year 2010. It's been almost more than 8 years, I have been depositing my monthly EMI  without living in my flat. In that period of time, my family and I lived in a rented house. It was very tough to pay the house rent and  deposit the EMI of the flat too.”

In a conversation with CitySpidey, Gupta shared that he has been trying to get a registry paper for the last three years, but there is no hope. He said, “We (residents of Eco Village 1) went to the UP RERA, we talked to an authority, but the builder never listened to us. In between authority and the builder, the residents of the society are struggling. In recent times, there is no hope to get our registry  paper.”

He added, “What if I want to sell my flat? I can’t because no one will buy my flat because of the registry.” Gupta shared that the builder  stopped the construction work during 2012 or 2013 and then flat owners started to visit every week and force the builder to complete the work  as soon as possible.”

According to Gupta, society lacks basic amenities. The towers have only one lift, there is no basement parking, inadequate fire safety system, temporary electric connections, and water quality is not good. He added, “Builders charge 8 rupees per unit of electricity which is too costly. They also. charge maintenance charges but the condition of the society becomes more pathetic day by day.
