On Sunday, some residents along with Sushma Godara, Councillor of Sector-9, visited the site of the tower installation at 10:30 am for appealing of stopping the construction of mobile tower.
On Saturday, CitySpidey reported that residents of Sector 9, one of the posh localities in Dwarka, staged a protest against the installation of a 5G mobile tower in the residential pockets. They said that it would adversely impact the health of children, senior citizens and pregnant women who have been residing with their families in the sector.
Godara had a word with the Municipal Cooperation of Delhi and insisted not to do any illegal construction because it is a green belt and construction is not allowed.
KS Bhati, President of Forwas and a resident of Sector-9, said, "Around 10.30 pm, I visited the site where yesterday clandestine implanting of tower base was erected."
He added, "The work stood well suspended. The courageous protest by residents needs big kudos for stopping the illegal act of mischievous contractors. Let us not, however, go complacent and guard ourselves against the erection of the tower and get it annihilated by continuing our vigil and protest."
MK Singh, General Secretary of Forwars, said, "Today again, residents lodge their protest, and conveyed that to the councillor. It is found that green belt is under MCD and Councillor of our area also shared the concern and assure to take up the issue."
