The forum also enquired about the progress of handing over/taking over some roads and maintenance work between DDA and PWD/SDMC and it was informed that there is not much progress.

The members also shared the feedback received from Dwarka residents and discussed the requirements of multilevel parking facilities near markets of sectors 6, 10, 4, 5, 11, and 12 as well as near Ramphal Chowk market.

It was decided that the requirement of flyovers, multilevel car parking facilities and disposal of already earmarked vacant plots will be discussed by Dwarka Forum in detail with the Planning Department of DDA.

During discussions, it was also decided that sector-wise surveys will be conducted by already nominated Dwarka Forum volunteers with Executive Engineer(s) of the respective divisions.

Dwarka Forum requested for electrification of dark spot areas, replacement of rusted street light poles and removal of cables/wires tied on DDA's Street light poles by private cable operators/internet companies etc.

Sushil Kumar, President of Dwarka Forum, said, “I was present and led the delegation. It was good interaction and we expect DDA to take immediate action, especially on the broken road, zebra crossing, dark spot, non-functional street light issues. It is also not clear what will happen to hand over/taking over which also worries me. We expect the pragmatic approach of DDA to deal with current and future traffic as lots of projects like Bharat Vandana, IICC, Diplomatic enclave etc are coming which will increase traffic flow many fold. We will also meet soon with the planning division as advised by CE. But entry-exit and traffic management of Dwarka is a big issue that needs immediate attention.”

The Chief Engineer and other concerned Senior officials of DDA took note of all the points that emanated from the discussions. The Chief Engineer (Dwarka) assured to take all possible steps on the issues discussed and to make citizens life more comfortable.
