DDRWA meets DCP to improve the traffic system

Noida: The District Development Residents Welfare Association (DD RWA) held a meeting with DCP Traffic Ganesh Prasad Saha in his office on Monday, in which, along with the DD RWA Executive Committee, representatives of many organisations of the Gautam Budh Nagar district participated.

The meeting was presided over by the President of the Federation, NP Singh. The members were welcomed with roses which were presented by DCP. In the meeting, various points were raised to improve the traffic system.

Officials discuss traffic issues with DCP Traffic

Some of them included the importance of CCTV cameras. It was emphasised upon that to curb the traffic problems of the city, it is very important to have CCTV cameras at all the important intersections of the city roads. This will help to create fear of challans and will make the commuters follow the traffic rules.

On the other hand, issues related to auto drivers constantly driving while breaking all the rules were also discussed. It was pointed that at most intersections of the city, auto drivers are constantly breaking all the rules, not keeping in mind the law and order and rules, the main example of this is seen at Sector 57 crossing.

Messages penned to follow traffic rules

Autos coming from Khoda side at Sector 57 red light have to go towards Sector 22 in the right direction. On reaching the traffic light, all the drivers park their auto on the left side while they have to go towards the right when the light turns green, and all go towards the right while disturbing the vehicle and obstructing the traffic. The provision of red lights at all these intersections of the city was also highlighted.

In continuation of the meeting, suggestions for the smooth operation of public transport were also discussed. It was said that there is a severe shortage of city buses in public transport in the city of Noida, Greater Noida and here residents mostly have to travel by their personal transport, otherwise the residents of the district travel by passenger auto.

DD RWA members meet DCP Traffic

The work of dividing all these public autos running in the district through unique numbers and colour coding is being done by the traffic department for some time, but the traffic department has not got any special success in this work. Therefore, it was requested to give a unique number to each passenger auto which should be written in bold letters on the front and back of that auto and also divided by the colour-coding of the auto according to the route.

Also, a request was made to DCP regarding fixing the dress code for the auto driver and all the passenger three-wheeler, passenger bus, truck, etc. in clear letters in the name of the owner, his phone number, and vehicle details. It should also be mandatory.

In the end, a request was also made with DCP for visiting the traffic park in the district as soon as possible. It was said that most of the drivers in the district are those who do not have any knowledge of the traffic rules and there is no such traffic park in the district where traffic-related information and training can be given to the residents.

Arrangements should be made so that residents and commercial drivers can get smooth information about traffic rules. For the same, a request was made to DCP to implement the process of police verification in the district as well.
