Elegant Ville- Residents shocked as sand oozes out from brick walls

The residents of Elegant Ville, a residential society in Techzone 4, Greater Noida West, tweeted one video where fine sand is seen oozing out of concrete brick from Deepak Mishra's flat, a resident of the society.

“In my entire flat, there is a seepage issue almost everywhere. As Diwali is approaching, we decided to get the walls repaired. As soon as a hole was dig in the wall, sand started oozing out. We have complained to the builder many times but there has been no positive response”, said Deepak Mishra.

Around 150 families are residing at Elegant Ville. The booking of the apartments in the society started in 2007. According to the residents, the society is still not fully completed after 11 years. Some buyers have been given possession while some are still waiting for it. Residents said no towers have two lifts. The project is still under construction, however, residents claimed that they moved in because they were in need and in dual pressure of paying rent as well as home loan installments. They further said that the project was supposed to be completed by 2015 but so far, it is still under construction. On September 13, residents also staged a protest against the builder, demanding basic amenities. Residents shared that the society has six towers, in which two towers are under construction.

N.S Rawat, a buyer of Elegant Ville, said, “I had booked my flat in 2010. This year, in September, they have given me possession which is still incomplete as there are no general amenities. I thought if we will shift in this flat, we would need to do some wood work here. As soon as the carpenter started working, what we saw was very shocking. There was sand oozing out from the wall. We demand from the authorities that this construction work need to be checked as it can become very dangerous for the buyers or residents living in this society”.
