Gunther’s most iconic dialogues in Friends

Gunther can always bring a laugh, whether it’s his undying love for Rachel or his hatred for Ross

Gunther’s most iconic dialogues in Friends

When it comes to supporting characters, Gunther from Friends is hard to beat. The Central Perk manager is a recurring character who appears on the show frequently when the group is hanging out in the coffee shop. Gunther can always bring some funny moments to the show, whether it’s his undying love for Rachel or his hatred for Ross. He may not receive much attention in actual character development, but he contributes significantly to the show. Without Gunther, FRIENDS would be incomplete.

Here is a list of Gunther’s most iconic dialogues in the show:

1."You idiot!" (Season 4, Episode 20) The One with All the Wedding Dresses

Remembering Gunther

Rachel needs to get more genuine with Joshua since Ross is getting hitched to Emily. After she recommends that they accomplish something "insane" and get hitched, Joshua says that he needs to settle his separation and go on multiple dates with her. Gunther can't keep his feelings in and he yells "You idiot!" at Joshua.

2." What does Rachel see in this guy? I love Rachel. I wish she was my wife." (Season 3, Episode 7) The One with the Race Car Bed

Remembering  Gunther

The episode begins with the internal dialogue of each character. When Gunther goes to pick up coffee for his friends, he is struck by the fact that Ross is dating Rachel.

"What does Rachel see in this guy?" Gunther thinks. "I love Rachel. I wish she was my wife."
The episode perfectly captures Gunther's feelings for Ross, which are solely motivated by jealousy. Even when Ross tries to be nice to Gunther, it's never enough to keep the manager's snide remarks at bay.

3 " So, what is this? Some kind of snake or something?" (Season 5, Episode 21) The One with the Ball

Remembering Gunther

Rachels bought a weird cat and she hopes to sell her cat, but nobody wants to buy that cat. Of course Gunther decides to purchase the cat since he trusts that Rachel will need to visit her previous pet. At the point when Rachel isn't excessively intrigued, he asks Ross what sort of creature he recently bought.
"Anyway, what is this? Some sort of snake or something?" he asks, and obviously, he just purchased the cat since he figured it would carry him nearer to his crush.

4.."Jij hebt seks met ezels." (Season 8, Episode 7) The One with the Stain

Remembering Gunther

Ross decides to learn some Dutch in order to impress an elderly apartment owner and snag her living space when she dies. He refers to Gunther as an "ezel," which is a donkey (aka an a—). He believes he can one-up the manager and finally get back at him for all of his snide remarks over the years. "Hey, Gunther, you're an ezel."

Unfortunately, Ross is unaware that Gunther is fluent in Dutch.

"Jij hebt seks met ezels," he responds, referring to Ross's relationships with donkeys.

"Damn it!" Ross exclaims.

5."I love you. Now, I don't know if that changes your plans at all." (Season 10, Episode 17)

Remembering Gunther

Friends' final episode wouldn't have been complete without Gunther getting one last chance to annoy Ross. Ross finally admits to Rachel that he still loves her as she prepares to leave for Paris. "Rachel, I know that you're leaving tonight, but I just have to tell you. I love you," Gunther says. "Now, I don't know if that changes your plans at all, but I thought you should know." Rachel tells Gunther that she loves him too, but "probably not in the same way."
She then walks out.

6."I dropped a cup." (Season 3, Episode 19) The One with the Tiny T-Shirt

Remembering Gunther

Gunther fantasizes in his mind about asking a recently single, Rachel out.
"Say, Rachel, I was contemplating whether you'd prefer to go out to see a film with me at some point. As my sweetheart," he thinks. "Excessively out there. Perhaps grab a bite with me at some point. As my darling."

Her colleague Mark then, at that point, enters and concedes that he's had a keen interest in her. He asks her out, and she acknowledges. An upset Gunther then retreats to the back of the coffee shop, and a loud crash can be heard. When he comes back to the front, everyone is staring at him. "I dropped a cup," he says as an excuse.

7."Hey, buddy, this is a family place. Put the mouse back in the house." (Season 3, Episode 13)

Remembering Gunther

At the point when Phoebe acquaints the group with her new playmate, Robert, Chandler quickly sees that his athletic shorts are a little... uncovering.  He promptly tells Ross, and Joey later sees the issue for himself. When Phoebe finds out with regards to her beau's issue, she chooses to sever it.
Robert has no clue about why ladies continue to part ways with him, however, Phoebe doesn't have the foggiest idea how to tell him the naked truth. Enter Gunther, who articulates the notorious line: "Hello, pal, this is a family place. Set the mouse back in the house."

8."Oh, like you don't already have everything?" (Season 3, Episode 8) "The One with the Giant Poking Device"

Remembering Gunther

Ross and Rachel embrace at the start of while getting their coffee orders at the counter. When Ross asks Gunther for a napkin, he can't help but mention his relationship with Rachel. "Oh, like you don't have everything?" Gunther asks before aggressively putting one tiny napkin on the counter.

Every character of Friends has become immortal over the years. We’ll miss Gunther as made our journey of FRIENDS memorable. CitySpidey pays a tribute to James Michael Tyler, for making us laugh out loud with these epic dialogues in the show.
