If olive oil solidifies or becomes cloudy in the refrigerator, it is 100% pure and authentic.

The best place to check the authenticity of a product is a dedicated lab. There is no way to check the authenticity of olive oil at home. Depending on the property of oil some oil tends to get cloudy once they are refrigerated. The best way to check the authenticity of oil is to taste and smell.

Olive oils and other oils have the same amount of calories.

Reality
Olive oil relatively contains fewer calories in comparison to canola and vegetable oil. Moreover, they are a source of beneficial fats such as (PUFA, MUFA), antioxidants and have 0% cholesterol.

Olive oils are like wine, the older, the better

Reality
It can be unhealthy to store olive oil for more than 2 years. Olive oils can last for 2 years maximum if stored neatly in a cool, dark place. If opened, experts recommend using it within 2-3 months.
