Indirapuram: A free mammography camp was organised in Angel Mercury Society of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. The main organizers of the event were Angel mercury AOA, Rotary club, and Amar Ujala Foundation. 22 women have got the test done and around 50 women have taken consultation from the doctor. Mammography is the process where low X-rays are used to detect breast cancer at an early stage.
The doctors advised all the women to take the first test of Mammography at the age of 40 and then a regular screening after every two years. This is very important to find out the Cancer in its starting phase.
Avneesh Kumar Jha, AOA President, Angel Mercury says, "We will try to organise such programs on a regular basis. The awareness about breast cancer is very important and we will work to spread awareness about it in the future too.”
Seema Pandey, a resident says, “The Mammography test is costly outside, and in few cases women are hesitant too. A camp like this in their own society helps in removing the hesitation from them.”
Vandana Tiwari, another resident says, “I took the test and the doctors were quite nice. The whole setup was in a bus and the service was good.”
