You heard it right, it is happening. Our childhood favourite, Harry Potter is gonna return to the screen with a reunion episode and we cannot keep calm.

The trailer for Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts is now available on YouTube. On Monday, HBO Max released the official 90-second trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter reunion special, which will premiere on HBO Max on January 1st, 2022. 'Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts' will be about the Harry Potter cast reuniting at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, the Making of Harry Potter and reminiscing about the filming of the eight Harry Potter films.

I cannot think of a better Christmas or new Year present than this, as we are about to say goodbye to 2021 and welcome 2022. When we talk about Harry Potter, the first thing that comes into our mind is the magic they have spread through their movies worldwide. The dim lights, notes of Hedwig’s theme play in the background as the Warner Brothers logo appears on screen, and we’re instantly transported back to 2001. That’s right, it has been 20 years since the first Harry Potter film was released.

The trailer opens with an image of the golden trio, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, laughing in what used to be the Gryffindor Common Room. For the fans, it is an emotional moment as the major characters pick up where they left off. The final movie of the Harry Potter series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,” was released in 2011.

“Think of a powerful memory. Make it the happiest you can remember,” Radcliffe says at the start of Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Order of the Phoenix. Return to Hogwarts trailer, where we see him walking through Diagon Alley and Watson smiling to herself on Platform 9 3/4. “It feels like no time has passed, and a lot of time has passed,” Watson says as she hugs another Harry Potter cast member at the reunion. “I think it’s the perfect time to sit down with everyone and reminisce,” Grint says in a separate interview.

Among funny moments from the trailer, Bonham Carter (playing Bellatrix) remembers the time she “had to pretend to be Hermione pretending to be Bellatrix” as they break into Gringotts during ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2'.

“I’ve still got the teeth,” she says to Radcliffe, putting them in her mouth as he laughs.

Fiennes, the character playing Voldemort, stated that his sister, who had ‘Harry Potter'-aged children when he was considering playing Voldemort, told him, “You’ve got to do it!”

We have some stirring dialogues in the trailer of 'Harry Potter: Return to Hogwarts' trailer, Radcliffe says, “I wouldn’t be the person I am without so many people here", Grint says as a response,  “It’s a very heartwarming thing ’cause I’ve watched you grow up, and I’ve seen kind of every stage of your life,” Watson says elsewhere. “When things get really dark and times are really hard, there’s something about Harry Potter that makes life richer." (Yes Emma, we can't agree more!)

For many, Harry Potter and his series was an integral part of our childhood; we grew up by watching it, it taught us the real meaning of friendship and love. The author of the beloved book series JK Rowling was not interviewed for ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts’, and will be shown in only archival footage about the movies.

Return to Hogwarts will be available in India, but no details on the platform or release date have been released. Watch the trailer here and contain your emotions!
