Divyansh Pratham Society: Shortage of Ganga Water Supply troubles residents

The residents of Divyansh Pratham Society, Indirapuram are unhappy with the water supply in the society. According to the residents, due to irregular supply of Ganga water, the society had to opt for private boring water supply. However, the water supplied in the society is hard and at times, the supply is irregular.

According to Kapil Tyagi, President of RWA, this issue has been prevalent in the society for quite some time now. "There is scarcity of Ganga water supply which has forced us to use private boring water. We have to pay additional cost for this water supply", says he.

He further says, “The private supply is not so good, it is quite hard which causes many problems such as hair fall and some skin problems. Private boring water is not that safe for use."

As per Ajesh Singh, secretary of RWA, there is no scarcity of water but we only have access to the boring water which is not as good and safe as Ganga water. Residents have complained that the hard water doesn't form lather and is unfit for several daily purposes. It also allegedly produces sticky scum on the body and drinking it affects the digestive system.

“We have also filed complaints to GDA but no action has been taken. The Ganga water supply is still irregular. For days, it is available for a specific period of time and at very low pressure, making it almost unaccesible”, says Tyagi.
