Vidya Balan and Shefali Shah, strong actors of Bollywood have joined forces in the upcoming movie Jalsa which will be released on Amazon Prime on March 18. The movie will explore the investigation of the hit and run case of a young woman at 3 am in the night. The film is directed by Suresh Triveni. It also stars Iqbal Khan, Manav Kaul, Vidhatri Bandi, Srikant Mohan, Shafeen Patel and Surya Kasibhatla in key roles.

From Jolly LLB to No one Killed Jessica, crime thrillers have long kept Indian audiences glued to their screens. The trailer of Jalsa released on YouTube promises the film to be an engaging watch with twists and turns. We will see Vidya Balan as the journalism struggling to find the truth, and Shefali as the victim’s mother who also seems to be hiding something.

The murder unleashes a mystery involving an angry mother, a journalist, a cop, and a system all caught in an ethical dilemma. Everyone seems to be keeping a secret as we delve into the story. Tension remains high throughout the trailer of this crime thriller.

In an interview, Vidya Balan mentioned that earlier when she was offered the role, Vidya Balan said, “I had loved it, but I can't do it. I didn't have the guts.” As per her, it was the pandemic that made her introspect and prepared her for this role. Sharing the trailer on her social media, she says, “Truth is stranger than fiction.” Vidya was previously seen in another Amazon original movie ‘Sherni’.

It was also shared by Shefali Shah who wrote, ‘One Truth, many versions’. She was previously in the medical thriller ‘Human’ on Hotstar.

The overall feel of the trailer is discomforting and exciting. Moreover, it would be exciting to see Balan and Shah who have proved their credibility as actors share the screen.
