Surajkund Mela: Grooving to the beats of folk music

The Surajkund International Crafts Mela brings together diverse cultures and art forms from across and outside of India. The event features everything, from food to handicrafts and handlooms from different Indian states. Another highlight of the fair is the traditional music and folk dance.

As you take a stroll through several stalls, you might witness people performing traditional folk music and dance in the midst of all the chaos. You can spot artists sitting with traditional Indian instruments performing folk music from Rajasthan and Haryana. You might also come across Nigerian artists grooving to the beats of the African drums.

To host performances of folk artists from different cultures of India, there is a specially built stage set up in the mela. There, you can enjoy the sight of artists, all dressed up in their traditional attires, performing, playing music and dancing.
