Noida: Residents of Supertech Capetown, a residential society Sector 74, Noida, are once again standing against the hike in maintenance charges. On May 1, 2022, the residents staged a protest against the builder, but with a twist. The residents decided to organize a havan named 'Buddhi Shuddhi Havan' at the Ram Janaki temple of the society at 10 am.

As per the residents, YG Estate, the maintenance agency of the soceity, increased the maintenance charge on April 17, 2022. Howver, residents alleged that the facility head did not share any further notice with them. Earlier, the maintenance charge was Rs 2.25 per square foot but now it has been increased to 2.60 per square foot. The residents are not happy with this hike.

He adds, “Now the maintenance charges in Capetown is the highest in any society in the 7x sectors, whereas, in Mahagun or any other society, the maintenance charge is not more than Rs 2 per foot. We wrote an e-mail to the Chief Executive Officer, District Magistrate, Police Commissioner Noida, and IRP appointed in Supertech to withdraw the increase in the maintenance charge by the builder and have also appealed to the Chief Minister.”

Mangla Jain, a resident of the society says, “There is no need to increase maintenance charges. The facilities provided by the builder are pathetic. This Supertech builder is in insolvency, so who gave him rights to increase maintenance charges. About 1700 flats in our society are unregistered. Last Sunday, we filed a police complaint against the builder.”

DP Sharma, another resident says, “There are few rules and regulations to increase the CAM charges, which was not followed by the builder. Residents have a question that Is the builder gave the power to YG  Estate to increase maintenance charges? As per the builder’s  representative, they have informed about this to AOA. but AOA does not  know about this.”
