Noida: World Environment Day was celebrated with enthusiasm in Noida. The society residents, RWAs and the volunteers of many NGOs were seen actively participating in plantation drives, building nests for the birds on June 5, 2022.
Challengers NGO and Samvedna Foundation
Challenger's NGO at sector 22 and Samvedna Foundation at A-Block Park, sector-33 came together to celebrate World Environment Day uniquely. They put 50 nests for the protection of sparrows. This nest placing campaign was started by Nawab Singh- Former Minister of State and Rohit Ghai- RWA President of sector 31, Noida.
According to volunteers of Challengers NGO, the main attraction of the campaign was to provide shelter for extinct species and on the other hand, provide employment to women from economically weak women who would help in installing nests.
Prince Sharma, Founder of Challengers NGO says, “As a result of cutting trees and construction of high-rise buildings, various species such as the sparrow have become extinct. The purpose of starting this campaign this World Environment Day is to bring these extinct birds back to their homes.
Volunteers from Challengers NGO and Samvedna NGO namely Shyam Gupta, Sonia Choubey, Roshni Kumari, Jaipi Rawat, Usha Singh, Ravi Dutta Pratibha, Kirti, Anita, Shailendra, Chandni, Saloni, Saurabh, Meena, Tannu, Shanti, Anjali among others were present on the occasion.
Nirala Aspire Greater Noida West
Nirala Aspire Greater Noida West celebrated World Environment Day with a plantation drive. The residents and the maintenance team planted 150 medium saplings in the society. This initiative was taken up by the Green Volunteer Group of the society. Children and senior citizens also participated in the drive.
Moreover, a tree plantation drive was organised by the DD RWA in Bal Udyan in Sector 51. The community members planted 21 saplings around the society.
NP Singh, DD RWA President, Sanjeev Kumar-Senior Vice President, Rajiv Kumar-Advisor, Prakash Ranotra-President sector 51 etc were present on the occasion.
