Noida: On the occasion of World Environment Day, on June 5, 2022, the Super Women Athlete Group (SWAG) organized a cycle rally from Charmurti to D-Park and a plantation drive in the same park. The participants also took pledge to save the environment.

In the event, many members of Noida Extension Flat Owners Association and cyclo-cross also participated enthusiastically.

Bhawna Gaur, founder of SWAG says, "Planting trees is necessary but taking care of them is even more important. This is why we have chosen D-Block park for plantation because we will continue rising to this destination."

All the participants of the event met near Charmurthy and rode for 40 km. Following the rally, many plants like Harsingar, Neem, Peepal, Bel, Banyan and Tulsi were planted in D-Park.

The man who stole the show at the event was Azeem Khan, a rider from NEFOWA who rode for 102 km to encourage everyone. He also planted a neem tree in the plantation drive.

Abhishek Kumar, President, NEFOWA says, "It is not just about Environment day, we have been planting trees of neem and peepal in Greater Noida West for 7 to 8 years. We plant trees especially during the rainy season. We will start planting trees again from the second or third week of July."

On the occasion, Sanjay Kumar, founder member of Cyclo-Cross said that they are all determined to save nature. He says, "More use of bicycles and more plantation drives will help curb carbon emissions. Many members of our group have travelled across different states by bicycle. All the members of Cyclo-Cross appreciated the program organized by Swag team."
