It was held under the tagline, “Yoga hi hoga, yoga hi jeevan hai”. It was organized for kids. However, it was also open to adults too. The camp was organised by Bhartiya Yog Sansthan who runs various yoga camps for children. Yoga instructor, who is also a society resident, Shashi Bakshi along with other instructors spearheaded the camp.

Children and adults who participated in the yoga camp on the first day were given free yoga mats too. The kids enjoyed the camp. Parents who joined their kids were also delighted to see their kids participate in this healthy exercise.

Yoga has been proved to be very beneficial for kids as they deal with many distractions, temptations, overstimulation and peer pressure. Not to forget the pressure they faced at school during covid times over the last few years. Yoga is a free and helpful tool that has a positive impact on children and also helps them stay healthy and fit.

Yoga helps kids in these ways-

  • Build body awareness
  • Teaches flexibility
  • Build focus and concentration
  • Increase their confidence
  • Meditation helps them manage stress also through breathing
  • Most importantly alternative to their constant attachment to visual devices like laptops and phones
  • Improve overall physical health and fitness by strengthening and energising their bodies

Neeraj Gupta, another resident and yoga student of this camp says, "The yoga class was awesome and it was free. Instructor Bakshi made the camp easy and interesting for kids who participated with high energy and full enthusiasm.”
