GreNo Authority instructs Supertech Eco village 1 to seek a structural audit

GreNo West: Greater Noida Authority has given notice to the builder of Supertech Eco village 1 to seek an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Audit report in a month. This comes after the residents held a protest on July 3, 2022 at Hanuman Chowk, to highlight the poor condition of the building. The Greater Noida Authority has demanded a response to the notice within 3 days from the builder. The Authority has also instructed the builder to submit an IIT audit report of the building within 30 days.

The residents have been pushing for a structural examination of their housing society for quite some time because of the alleged degradation of the building. As reported recently, during the installation of Sewage Treatment Plant in the society, the road in front of Tower D5 and F7 sank in, further tilting a pillar in the basement of the society. CitySpidey reported the issue on June 28, 2022.

In the notice, Supertech Builder has been instructed to get the building repaired at the earliest and till the time the building is not repaired, arrangements should be made to ensure no accident takes place. The Authority has sought the IIT audit report from Supertech Ecovillage 1 within thirty days. After the order of the Authority, the builder is in a quandary and has approached IIT to get the structured audit done.

The residents of Supertech Eco Village 1 in Bisrakh had raised an outcry against the builder on Sunday, July 3, 2022. Residents protested against the incomplete work in society. After the demonstration, the Authority swung into action and served notice to the builder.

Ranjana Suri Bhardwaj, a resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1 and member of NEFOWA says, “There are a lot of things which need immediate action. When will the Authority work on that? There are pending registries, incomplete work, and pending STP. We had been demanding an audit for years and now, the authority takes an action?  This is not only about the Supertech Eco Village 1, it is about every society in Greater Noida West. Where the need is to check that many places there is no fire safety system etc. Authority should be cautious about the resident's complaints should take action promptly rather than waiting for the major mishappening.”

B.S. Tripathi, another resident of Supertech Ecovillage 1 says, “We are not satisfied with the proceedings of the Authority. We cannot keep waiting for the ordeal to pass and then again get a consoling statement. We want action. If authority says things will get better, the authority must comply with it.”

On this, we contacted Amandeep Duli, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Greater Noida Authority. He tells us that the Project Department and Planning Department inspected the society and witnessed cracks at several places in the column and the driveway in front of towers numbers F-7 and D-5 of Supertech Eco Village 1.

He further says, "A warning has been issued to the builder that if there is any loss of life, then Supertech will be responsible for it. The letter has been issued in this regard. We have asked the Supertech Ecovillage 1 builder to get the structural audit done and to give the report within a month. By that time, the area where the road sank in has been sealed."
