Ghaziabad: Residents riled with garbage piles

Ghaziabad: Roads littered with garbage and piles of garbage on the roadside have become a common sight in several areas of Ghaziabad. Disturbed by this sight residents across Ghaziabad are demanding the Gaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) take some urgent action.

According to the locals, the sweepers clean the roads, however, the garbage is then piled up at the roadside and remains there for an entire week. It causes issues such as foul odor and raises health concerns among residents.

According to Bharat Singh, a resident of Ramesh Vihar in Kaushambi, "We've been seeing that the garbage is piled up at the roadside and no one does anything about it. We have sent several letters to the Nagar Nigam office, we hope to hear from them soon."

According to Mamta Malik, a resident of Raj Nagar Extension, whenever the sweeper in their area cleans the drain, he piles up the waste near the homes of the residents. He says, "The Nagar Nigam workers did not collect the waste from the road in front of our houses, and now that the monsoon has started, it has become messier."
