Gurgaon: Uppal's Southend RWA meets SHO about murder

In the view of the death of 4-year-old Sonam on November 25, the residents of Uppal's Southend met with the SHO of the area, Vijay Yadav, on November 27, and requested him to maintain strict vigil in the area.

The victim was kidnapped from the Sai Dham temple inside Uppal's Southend on Sohna Road on November 25. Her body was found on November 26. Her mother, Radha, used to work in the society as a domestic help.

According to RWA president Bhagat Singh, in a meeting held with society members on November 27, it was decided that the society's CCTV cameras would be immediately repaired.

Singh further said that they had submitted an application to the local police station, asking the SHO to shut down the entrance/exit from Sapphire Apartments and remove a group of banjaras (nomads) living adjacent to the main entrance.

Singh also said that the SHO suggested that the RWA close all the entry and exit gates, except the main entrance on Sohna Road and Gate No 5. He added, “The SHO also asked the RWA to fix the broken fence around the colony and have appropriate lighting at night."

According to a police official, the residents have not been helpful in providing information, despite the assurance that their names would not be made public.
