Krishna Janmasthami is a joyous occasion not just for the devotees but for people from all communities. The birth of lord Krishna is celebrated on a large scale in Delhi. Several areas see vibrant fairs, jhaakis(tableaus) and Dahi-Handi programmes. After two monotonous years spent at home due to Covid, the glory of celebrating Janmashtami would be unmatched.

Here are the 5 top Melas in Delhi you can visit on Janmashtami-

Iskcon Dwarka Mela

When it comes to Janmashtami celebrations, Iskcon needs no introduction. Krishna Janmasthami is celebrated on a large scale with Jhaankis and exposure to Vaishnav culture to the public. Stalls have been set up in a nearby park. As gathered, 2022 types of bhogs are being prepared that will be distributed to the public.

DDA grounds, Dwarka

 This is a two-day Mela set up from August 18 to 19. The Fair is being organised by Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan, where entry is free for the public. There are numerous stalls set up from food to cultural programmes. The uniqueness of this programme is the live experience of Krishna Leela. However, there are no rides available for the kids.

Punjabi Bagh Mela- This mela, near the ring road, has all that one can ask for, rides, food, a magic show, Krishna Jhakees and shopping. Today, August 19 to witness this festivity at Punjabi Bagh mela.

Uttam Nagar Mela- The mela is set up on a small ground visible from the Uttam Nagar metro station. With all the colourful setup you can get numerous rides, food and Krishna tableau (Jhaankis).

Janakpuri Mela

Janakpuri Mela is in Dussehra ground, b1, near bharti college, janakpuri. This Janmasthami Mahautsav offers you a game zone, dance performances, a food court, a haunted house and fun rides. This mela is going to be set until the next 10 days and you can enjoy it with a minimal entry ticket of rupees 20 per person.
