Recently, in Mid August, the capital saw a spike in Covid cases. A positivity rate reached 19.2 per cent on August 16, 2022. Although the Covid cases have come under control, the number of deaths still pose a concerning figure.
5 deaths were recorded in Delhi during the last 24 hours as per the health advisory issued by the Department of Health, Delhi Government on August 28, 2022. Moreover, 397 cases were reported in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate is 3.05 %.
With nearly 13k tests conducted the previous day, Covid cases reach 19,98,644 and the death toll climbed to 26,458. Among the 2605 active cases, 293 are admitted to hospitals and 1942 are under home isolation. 205 containment zones have been found across the capital.
As gathered, the spread of the infection is thought to be under control when a positivity rate of 5 per cent or less is seen over two weeks. The city recorded a positivity rate of 30.6 per cent on January 14, the highest during the third wave.
