A new right turn being developed by Noida Authority will help residents of Sector 137 travel a kilometre less to reach their homes. Currently residents of Paramount Floraville, Gulshan Vivante and Ajnara Daffodil have to take a long U-turn to reach their societies (see map).
Currently, some residents are using a gap in the divider 500 m before the under-construction right turn and driving on the wrong side to reach their homes. This increases the risk of accidents. The right turn — once ready in a couple of days, according to the Authority — will both bring down travel time and make the stretch safe for commuters.
Two months ago, a group of residents from the sector met Saumya Srivastava, the deputy CEO of Noida Authority, about this. The Authority promised that a right turn would be constructed near Paramount Floraville before Diwali.
Nandini Srivastava, a resident of Paramount Floraville, said, “Though work has been delayed, we are happy that the right turn will soon be open to the public. Who would want to take a 1-km-long U-turn at the end of a long day in office?"
