New Delhi: With an aim to control the pollution this winter season, the Delhi Government has intensified work on the 15-point Winter Action Plan, which shall be implemented soon. To discuss the same, environment Minister Gopal Rai met with DPCC engineers at the Delhi Secretariat on Monday, September 26, 2022.
Gopal Rai said that the Delhi Government has begun formulating its Winter Action Plan to tighten the noose on pollution. “The Winter Action Plan for this year is structured around 15 focus points. The DPCC has been directed to form teams for the winter action plan as soon as possible. In addition, the DPCC has been directed to work on the main focus points, which are dust pollution, industrial pollution, upgrading of the war room and green app, smog tower, and real-time apportionment study,” he said.
Gopal Rai directed the DPCC and its officials to make all necessary preparations for the Winter Action Plan as soon as possible. He has directed the DPCC to work on the main focus points of dust pollution, industrial pollution, green-war-room and upgradation of the green app, smog tower, and real-time source apportionment study. He directed the officers to work on the Real Time Apportionment Centre and the assessment report of the smog tower on priority. Instructions have also been given to take all necessary steps to upgrade the Green War Room and Green App.
Gopal Rai directed DPCC officials to ensure that all construction and demolition projects larger than 500 square metres are registered on the C&D portal, and that a special drive be launched to accomplish this.
He further directed them to conduct continuous inspections in the industrial area and also to take strict action against illegal/unauthorised industries. He stated that the DPCC should ensure that all registered industrial units are operated solely through PNG.
