Dwarka: As the festivities of Navaratri 2022 kickstart, Dwarka had its first Dandiya night of the season in Bal Ramlila Ground, sector 13 Dwarka on September 26, 2022. The programme started at 8:30 pm with an opening performance by kids and ended by 10 pm.
A dandiya competition was organised in Sector 13, Dwarka, in which, residents from across Dwarka participated. Pratima Khandelwal, President of Sampoorna Baal Ram Leela, invited the participants of Dandiya on the stage to kick start the competition. After a briefing of the rules and regulations for the dandiya competition, dandiya night started. The registered participants performed dandiya and garba dance.
The participants were beautifully dressed in the traditional bright coloured ghagras and cholis, adorned with mirror work. To complete the look, the women accessorized with oxidised jewellery. Nishant Prakash was the host and the singer for the night. He made the audience laugh with his jokes and sang some trendy songs for the audience to dance to.
After a warm up session, the organisers also called some professional garba dancers to teach the participants. There were prices for the best dressed and best dancers in the house.
