Dwarka- Community celebrates Vijay Dashami with Ravan Dahan Ravan Dahan from Bal Ramleela, sector 13

The last few days saw a festive cheer around Delhi NCR with Durga puja and Ramleela celebrations. The Navratri came to an end with Vijay Dashami in the sub-city. People gathered at the Ramleela grounds in different sectors to witness the victory of good over evil with Ravan Dahan on October 5, 2022.

The occasion, held post-Covid, saw great enthusiasm by the community with jam-packed roads near the Ramleela grounds during the evening. Effigies of Ravana, Kumbhkarna, Meghnatha were burnt amidst a cheering public.

Several communities and RWAs arranged Ravan Dahan at the vacant lands near their societies or in their parks. Small effigies were also burnt symbolically to celebrate the occasion. Moreover, as Dussehra represents the end of evil and the victory of goodness, residents also burnt effigies of Corona and terrorism in some places.

At the Ramleela grounds, Lord Rama was shown on stage with his family depicting his succession to the throne. Processions of Lord Rama, performed by residents depicting his succession also took place in societies.
