In happy news for Delhiites, there would no longer be a fine for not wearing a mask in public places as per the latest information given by the state government. Rs 500 fine had been reimposed in April as the cases surged in the capital.
After the spike of Covid cases reported during August, the cases have been under control for the past month. As a result, Delhi Disaster Management Association, in a meeting, decided to rule out the restriction. The withdrawal of the mask rule comes amid a drop in coronavirus cases. 74 Covid cases and a positivity rate of 1.07 per cent were recorded on October 4, 2022.
Apart from this, three Covid centres in the city will be dismantled and the land will be vacated. However, the services of contract employees working at Covid hospitals have been extended till the yearend.
Moreover, Delhi NCR witnesses massive community celebrations of Navratri and Durga puja with relaxation in guidelines on public gatherings.
