Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajneesh Verma told news agency PTI that the child's parents were occupied in labour work when the incident happened. After the incident, the toddler was rushed to a private hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
After the incident, there is fear and anger among residents. Many residents are demanding safety provisions for their children.
It is worth noting that there have been cases of dogs attacking and injuring people in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. Given these attacks, a resolution was passed in the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation board meeting that the nurturing of dangerous dogs like Pitbull, Rottweiler would be completely banned by the Municipal Corporation.
Anita Bansal, a senior citizen from Lotus Boulevard says, "The dog issue is not new in this society but it has become deadly now. Every week, a new case of dog menace comes up. We pay 7000 for maintenance but the AOA is not doing enough to resolve the dog issue. They remove the dogs during the day but they come back at night again. We want an answer, as tomorrow our children can be attacked too."
