After a slight improvement over the past few days, Delhi's Air Quality Index is rising again. The city's overall AQI settled at 249 on Thursday, November 16, 2022 morning according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
On November 15, 2022, Delhi's AQI was 221, dropping from the 'Very Poor" category to the 'Poor' category. It is worth noting that the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR & Adjoining Areas (CAQM), the Centre's body for overlooking pollution has allowed the resumption of construction activities in the capital recently. This decision was taken citing improved air quality.
On Thursday, around 11:05 am, the AQI of Delhi was 'poor' at many stations. This includes Anand Vihar 254, Pusa Delhi 257, Punjabi Bagh 277 and 238 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
An AQI between 0 to 100 is considered as good, while from 100 to 200 it is moderate, 201 and 300 are considered 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
