Veteran actor Vikram Gokhale, a popular name in Marathi cinema and best known for his role in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam passed away on Saturday, November 26 due to a multi-organ failure. The actor was undergoing treatment since November 5, 2022, at Deenanath Mangeshkar hospital in Pune. The hospital released a statement about his deteriorating health today morning.
The 77-year-old actor's remains will be taken to Bal Gandharva Rang Mandir and his mortal remains will be kept at Bal Gandharva Auditorium, Mumbai. His last rites will be performed at Vaikunth crematorium, Pune.
The journey of the veteran actor started with the Marathi stage and went on to Hindi films. Gokhale won the National Award for Best Actor for a Marathi film 'Anumati' in 2013, at the 60th National Film Awards. His ever-green roles are in Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Agneepath, as a father of Aishwarya Rai in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Mission Mangal. Some of his Marathi films were Mukta, Me Shivaji Park, Bala Gau Kashi Angar and Jaana Na Dil Se Door.
