The place becomes extra special for us, as we see ourselves to be at the same spot as our favourite Bollywood stars. As the winters have made their full fledged arrival and mountains are already on our travel plans, why not go to hill stations where several Bollywood films have been shot? Not only will it be fun, it will also be exhilarating for the Bollywood buff inside if us.
Darjeeling
This hill station in West Bengal has gotten a lot of attention from Bollywood. Darjeeling offers a breathtakingly beautiful scenery and freshness in its air. Because of this, whenever we hear 'Chale Jaise Hawayein', which was filmed at the St. Paul's School in Darjeeling, or 'Kasto Mazza Hai' which was filmed in the Darjeeling toy train, we get the urge to travel to this lovely location right away. Jagga Jasoos, Barfi, Yaariyan, and more films were also filmed in Darjeeling.
Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand
Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, a recent film starring Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor, featured numerous memorable scenes with gorgeous mountains of Pithoragarh in the backdrop. The rope bridge seen in the movie's climactic sequence connects the town's boundaries with Nepal. While leaving us in complete awe of this hill town in Uttarakhand, this movie left an urge inside our hearts to visit this beautiful location.
Ladakh
Numerous Bollywood movies have beautifully depicted Ladakh's stunning scenery. If you claim that you don't want to relive Shahrukh's famous Royal Enfield scene from Jab Tak Hai Jaan while riding through Ladakh, then you're lying. Also, how can we forget the famous climax scene of 3 Idiots that was shot in Ladakh? After watching the beauty of this place on screen, we all are eager to witness it through our own eyes.
Shimla & Manali
Shimla is the place Geet and Aditya from 'Jab We Met' reunite, and Manali is where all the gang in 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' go for a trek . Wildly popular movies such as Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Krrish, Brahmastra, Bang Bang among others have been shot in either of these two cities. Already regarded as the most beautiful and popular hill stations, we now have all the more reason to visit these places.
Athirapally And Vazhachal Waterfalls, Kerala
The Athirapally Waterfalls, famously known as the 'Niagra Falls of India', is among the most magnificent and stunning waterfalls in the world. Located in Kerala's Thrissur district, the waterfall has appeared in a number of movies songs. The scenes and songs for the film Baahubali were filmed here. Among the numerous songs that have been filmed here are the well-known song "Barso Re" from Guru and the song "Behne De" from Raavan.
Srinagar, Kashmir
We don't need words to express Kashmir's beauty, and even if we did, we wouldn't find any that was enough. Many filmmakers have been drawn to Kashmir to shoot their movies because of the beauty and appeal it adds to the scene or movie. Numerous well-known movies have been filmed here, including Rockstar, Highway, Raazi, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Haider, Highway, and Fitoor, to name a few.
Ooty
There are numerous reasons to visit this breathtaking hill town in the Nilgiri Hills of Tamil Nadu. Ooty has been a popular pick among filmmakers and has hosted several film shootings. Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahaani, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Golmaal 4, Andaz Apna Apna, and Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, to mention a few were all filmed there thanks to its picturesque forests, stunning lakes, and tea gardens.
