In view of the MCD elections in Delhi, all liquor shops will remain closed from December 2-4, 2022. There will be a complete ban on the sale of liquor in Delhi during this period. The Excise Department of Delhi has made this announcement because of the MCD elections.

The MCD elections are to be held for 250 wards on Sunday, December 4 and the counting of votes will take place on December 7. According to the Delhi Excise Department, the day of the counting of votes i.e. December 7 has also been declared as a dry day. There will be a complete ban on the sale of liquor in Delhi on December 7 as well and liquor shops in Delhi will remain closed.

Delhi's Excise Commissioner Krishna Mohan Uppu has issued a notification saying that according to the provisions of Rule 52 of the Delhi Excise Rules, 2010, it is ordered that December 2 to 4 and December 7 will be dry days in the city. There will be a complete ban on the sale of liquor.

It is noteworthy that Dry Day is the day when the government bans the sale of liquor in clubs, bars and liquor shops.
