How to be more active throughout the day and lose weight

Do you want to lose weight but going to a gym doesn't fit in your schedule? Don't worry, a lot of people face the same. Most of us have a habit of procrastination and love to be a couch potato, which also leads to lethargy and inactivity and contributes to weight gain. If this is what you do most of the time then you know the problem. For a solution, keep reading.

Everyone wants to be fit and in shape but can't hit the gym regularly. In such situation, the best course is to be more physically active in your everyday life. Here are some small lifestyle changes you can make to your daily routine to stay fit and lose weight-

Take stairs

This is a small step that can help you lose several calories. Instead of taking the elevator, you should prefer the stairs. In this way, your entire body is involved in a physical activity. You can burn about 150 calories by climbing stairs for 5 minutes.

Walk while on the phone

When you have a long call to attend, try taking a walk or get your hands on some other household chore. This way, you won't realise when half an hour or an hour will pass by and by then, you would have burned hundreds of calories.

Take a walk

There is the least you can do for your health. Take a morning, evening, or night walk, whatever you are comfortable with. Maintain pace and move your arms while walking for effective results. You can also be walking on your terrace if you don't want to go out.

Play with your pet

Playing with your pet can be good exercise. It can burn a good amount of calories when you are actively playing with your pet. Take your pet to the park or play with them inside your house. Having a pet involves a lot of energy, running behind them and maintaining them. The most important part is once it becomes their habit they won't let you sit at that particular time and become your alarm clock for your exercise.

Set goals

You can set a goal for every day to complete a minimum number of footsteps. Setting and achieving those goals will make you feel motivated and day by day you will keep improving your lethargic habit. A minimum of 10,000 footsteps should be the start and track your steps using an application on the phone or devices.

Do your household work and keep stretching your body. Apart from this you can also perform some exercises and yoga activities at your home and get fit!
