Delhi: After a morning of hustle and bustle, the results of the MCD elections have been declared. At the fore is AAP with 134 seats. This is followed by BJP with 104 seats, Congress with 9 and 3 independent winners in the 250-member MCD. Party members were seen celebrating at vote-counting centres at various locations in Delhi. 

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the residents of Delhi have entrusted the responsibility of Delhi to him once again. We all have to join hands in the development of Delhi. For this, he sought the cooperation of all, including the members of the BJP and Congress. Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia said that this win is not a mere victory but a responsibility.

Moreover, Bobi, the AAP candidate from Sultanpuri-A ward became the first ever member of MCD from the transgender community.

The Delhi MCD election was held on December 4, 2022, at 250 wards for which the counting happened today. The voting percentage was, however, less this time with 50.48 this year according to State Election Commission. These are the first MCD elections after the unification of three corporations into one MCD and the delimitation of wards.
